Rajkumar was an Indian actor and singer in the Kannada cinema. Widely acclaimed as one of the finest actors in the history of Indian cinema, he is considered a cultural icon and holds a matinée idol status in the Kannada diaspora, among whom he is popularly adulated as Nata Saarvabhouma (emperor of actors), Bangarada Manushya (man of gold), Vara Nata (gifted actor) and Rajanna (elder brother, Raj) . He was honoured by Padma bhushan Award in 1983. He was acclaimed as one of the most generous and socially pro-active cinema artists in India for his various contributions.


Parvathamma Rajkumar (6 December 1939 – 31 May 2017) is an Indian film producer and distributor. She was the wife of Veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar. She produced successful films featuring Rajkumar and their sons Shiv Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar under the production house named “Poornima Enterprises”. Actresses who found fame in her productions include Malashri, Prema, Rakshita, Sudha Rani and Ramya. She was awarded with a doctorate from Bangalore University.

Amongst the awards she has received are the Phalke Academy award, Kannada Rajyotsava and a lifetime achievement award from the Government of Karnataka. By 2012, she had produced 80 films. She has spoken in defence of Kannadigas, regarding Karnataka’s position in interstate water disputes and against infringement of the Kannada film industry’s works


His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji is the 24th pontiff of Sri Suttur Math, established in the 10th century at Suttur, Mysore District, Karnataka. Swamiji who assumed the Peetha in 1986 at the young age of 29 years, had his spiritual training under the guidance of his illustrious predecessor H H Jagadguru Dr Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the founder president of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, an educational and cultural organization dedicated to the ideal of providing education to the villages of Karnataka. He is responsible for establishing the ‘Bharithya Samskruthika Parishath’, at all India level, by providing collective leadership involving all the heads of different religions, with an aim to take up activities which could benefit the mankind.


Sri Kempaiah IPS is a police officer from Karnataka, India. The high point of his career was successfully hunting down Rajiv Gandhi’s assassins in Bengaluru. He led the Karnataka police team that tracked Sivarasan, prime accused in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case. Kempaiah is one of the few living people from Karnataka who has had a movie made about his life. Kempaiah IPS Kannada movie features Sashi Kumar as the hero.

Sri Kempaiah has left his indelible mark of service in Mysuru District. He turned out to be a renaissance man of the Police Department, having restored almost all the dilapidated Police Stations without sacrificing the heritage character of the buildings. Until sri Kempaiah came to Mysuru, the Police Commissioner did not have an office of his own and was functioning from temporary premises on Lalitha Mahal Palace Road, in the office of the KSRP.
